I will try to update my blog as often as I can. Fair warning, I love to write, but I'm a horrible typer and my grammar skills are even worst (worse). So my apologies way in advance, Sorry! Which is actually a very common trait in most graphic designers and artists.

Greeting Card Giving: A Helpful Tip…

So, the other day I just did a boat load of Thank You cards (something all business owners should) and I wanted to share with you a simple little trick I started doing a few years go.

I don’t know about you, but I try to keep every card I get, I have them all in a little suitcase (not in any particular order or anything like that, I’m far too lazy for that).

Anyways, because they aren’t in any particular order it really hard to tell what year I go some of my cards, some, I can breakdown (guess-a-mate) what year I got them, based on what kind and style of a card it is and whether or not I remember where I lived when I got the card; for example I got a cat valentine’s card for my mom, the kind you would give a little-big kid, I remember that she sent it to me when I was living with my grandparents, so right there I know I got the card in February (it being a Valentine’s and all), it was giving to be when I lived with grandparents and it’s for a little-big kid so it had to be around the time when I was 11 or 12 so that mean that I either got the card in  1991 or 92.

Now, that’s a lot stuff to think about, it would be a whole lot easier to figure out what year I got the card, if she had simply flipped the card over to the back and wrote the year in one of the corners, that way 20 years from now, I will know that I got that card in 1991.

So, that’s it, every time I send or give a card to someone, I always write the year on the back of the card. Quick, easy, and helpful (that’s me!)
